Excel Advancement Spreadsheet to track the WOLF DEN in the New Cub Scout Program in Excel - Similar to the Cub Trax Spreadsheets

This Wolf Advancement Excel Spreadsheet is a workbook of FREE spreadsheets developed by Steve Coker, a Tiger Den Leader from Georgia, in the Northeast Georgia Council.  This is for use by Cub Scouters to keep track of scouts advancement using the new requirements being implemented in 2017.  Many scouters have used the Cub Trax spreadsheets for the current system, these spreadsheets operate in a similar manner.  The spreadsheets have an instructions page with details on how to use them and how to contact Steve with questions.

A special thank you to Jeff Freeman from Pack 3673 in Bozeman, MT for updating these spreadsheets and donating them to us.

  1. Is there anyway to download as a pdf? I don't have excel on my computer.

    1. If you don't have excel, you can download Adobe openoffice for free. You can use it to view Word/Excel documents. It won't support all of the formulas, but you would be able then to print individual pages to use. https://www.openoffice.org/

  2. I don't understand the instructions for "Individual Scout Pages".

Why would I " never enter any information on the individual scout pages." Seems like this is where I keep track of where the boys are?

I notice this is version 1.2. Can I update the one I've already put on my computer and all my info will transfer over???

    THANK YOU FOR THIS INFO!

    1. When you enter the information on the Bobcat/Core Adventure/Elective Adventure sheets the info is automatically transferred to the individual scout pages. If you choose to unlock the individual scout pages and enter the information straight on those pages, the formulas that copy information from one page to another won't work and you'll end up having to record items multiple times (if you use all the different sheets).

As far as I know, there is no way to transfer the info over. Hopefully you haven't had to enter too much yet so reentering it into the updated sheet won't be too bad. Alternatively, you could just keep what you have on the old sheet and just know that you have to add in the flag stuff for Council Fire. Everything else is the same.

  4. I would love to modify the "Scout Numbers" section on the Wolf sheet so I can track this digitally. Could you please share the password so I can unlock the protections? I'm just changing it for Den use, but I prefer to keep it digitally rather than on paper. Thank you! Also, thank you for sharing these great resources.

    1. It appears that the workbook was locked by mistake, probably happened while I was protecting the individual worksheets. Just go to the “Review” tab, select “Protect Workbook” and enter the same password as for the worksheets “tiger” to unlock it.

    2. tiger does not unlock the wolf worksheet. You have to use 'wolf'

  5. Are there any known issues using this with open office? When I change the sheet names of the individual scout pages to the scouts name it does not carry over to the rest of the sheets.
    Thanks

  8. It looks like this spreadsheet is almost an exact duplicate of Cubtrax2.1 (http://trax.boy-scouts.net/cubtrax.htm). It even has the same spelling errors in the wolf instructions. But Cubtrax has versions dated and credit given. Which is the legitimate version?

    1. This is a spreadsheet that was taken from the old cub trax and updated for the new program by Steve Coker, a Tiger Den Leader from Georgia, in the Northeast Georgia Council. He then contacted us to see if we would like to put it on our blog and we were excited to do so.

    1. We did not make these trackers, so it will be up to the individual who donated them, and we have not heard anything yet. Thank you for asking.

    2. I have undertaken a project to update the spreadsheets for the new requirement change announced in Dec 2016. I have just finished the Wolf recoding. starting bear this week. I'm going to send these to Mr.Coker as I complete them for his approval and distribution. If I hear nothing from him, I will make them available to this site directly by the end of the month. J. 16. I just want to say, you are my hero. I have loved this spreadsheet so much for helping me tracking my large Den without having to sign a million pages in a million handbooks and the fact that you updated it??? Fills me with so much joy. =) <3

  17. Quick Update: After updating my scouts info to the new worksheet I noticed one small error (I've corrected it on my sheets but thought maybe you may want to update the original):

Adventure in Coins, Requirement 4 & 5 are swapped, this is important because the new requirement is to do 1-4 plus any others optional. 4 should be the game with math.

    Thanks again!!

Thank you for your hard work!
