Why Does It Do That? was the official Cub Scout theme in March 2002.  The following information is from the 2002 Great Salt Lake Utah Council PowWow book.  This is a great theme, and many of the ideas that were used back then can still be used today.

Pack Meeting Idea Theme: Technology and Computers
Activity
: Do Computer Belt Loop, Wolf Elective 21, Bear Achievement 19 and Webelos Communicator Teach parts of a computer (as per belt loop) and have each Cub Scout participate in a short quiz or game.
  • Matching a picture of each computer part to the word.
  • Labeling each simple picture on a paper.
  • Pictionary, charades, etc.
    Teach about semiconductors and the making of computers.
    Teach the Binary Code.
    Take a digital picture of each Cub Scout during pre-opening and then have
    each boy print out their picture during the activity.
    Use a digital speech program to have the computer voice talk to the group with accompanying picture or PowerPoint presentation.
